Republican Lawmaker Implies Nurses Mostly Play Cards at Work

Republican Lawmaker Implies Nurses Mostly Play Cards at Work:  During a debate on a bill in Washington state that would require uninterrupted meal and rest breaks for certain healthcare workers, Republican State Sen. Maureen Walsh argued that giving nurses breaks would make it difficult for hospitals to stay open, pointing out that nurses really don’t need breaks anyway, because “they probably just play cards for a considerable amount of the day.”
Wow, seems Republicans must be taking themselves “a little break” from attacking teachers and public service employees, and have now moved on to attacking nurses.  Well, I guess we all need to take a break - that is, except nurses, who are way too busy playing cards.

That said, I wonder when the last time Sen. Walsh’s daily workload became so overwhelming that she was forced to forgo using to the restroom her entire time at work?  On the other hand, she does kind of remind me of someone who may be a wee bit “backed up.”  Perhaps adding a little more fiber might help?  Maybe she could ask a nurse about that.
So, it appears that Sen. Walsh has now taken to writing laws based on what she imagines nurses do all day?  My question is, if what Republicans like Sen. Walsh are saying is actually correct, then why is it that polls consistently rate nurses among the most respected of professions and politicians like her at the very bottom?

Sen. Katie Britt Blames Biden for a Rape 20 Years Ago in Mexico

During what many are calling an absolutely insane rebuttal to President Biden’s “State of the Union” address, Sen. Katie Boyd Britt (R-Ala.), walked onto a studio sound stage (set up like an upper-middle-class kitchen) and began to link a harrowing account of a young woman’s sex trafficking and rape by a Mexican drug cartel, to Joe Biden’s immigration policies of the 2020s.  She did this even though the abuse happened nearly 20 years ago and in Mexico - and at a time when Republican George W. Bush was president, not Joe Biden.  The girl about whom Sen. Britt spoke - was thrown out of her house by her mother at age 12 and eventually “fell prey to a professional pimp.”  There is no evidence that she was ever held by a drug cartel, as Katie claimed.  In addition, the young victim testified that most of her clients for prostitution were foreigners visiting Mexico to have sex with underage girls.   Okay, so now let me get this straight.  A young Mexican fema...

Nikki Haley Claims ‘America’s Never Been A Racist Country’

After causing quite a stir a few weeks ago when she told an audience member that the Civil War was fought over “States Rights,” refusing to even mention slavery, Republican Presidential hopeful Nikki Haley continued raising eyebrows again this week when Fox and Friends host Brian Kilmeade asked her if she thought the Republican Party was racist or if America was a “racist country.”   Astonishingly, Haley immediately said, “No!   We’re not a racist country, Brian!   We’ve never been a racist country.” Wow!  The new “female Mike Pence” just said what?   That said, and in all fairness, she may have just raised an interesting point here.   I mean, other than the slavery, repressive Jim Crow laws, the systematic slaughter and expropriation of Native Americans from their land, the segregation, the lynchings, the laws against interracial dating and marriage, discrimination in housing, education, and hiring, the negative and condescending portrayal of people of co...

GOP Lawmaker Says Trump’s Conduct Crosses Impeachment Threshold

GOP Lawmaker Says Trump’s Conduct Crosses Impeachment Threshold:   Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.), has become the first Republican congressman to publicly state that, based on the Mueller Report - the President “engaged in impeachable conduct.”  Rep. Amash further added that Attorney General Barr “deliberately misrepresented” the Mueller Report’s findings to congress and to the American public. Oh boy!   One can only imagine the 3 AM tweet storm that’s gonna emanate from Trump’s porcelain throne over this level of betrayal.  I’ll tell you another thing, disloyalty of this magnitude to the Cult of Trump isn’t likely to set well in America’s trailer parks either.   But then again, what else is new?  After all, Republicans have never viewed reality as being in their best interests.  Now, I have no idea how all this is gonna finally go down, but I do know one thing - Justin Amash is definitely not gonna get an invite to Donald Trump's next wedding....
