Not long after Texas Judge Maya Guerra Gamble issued a temporary restraining order (TRO) barring the state of Texas from preventing a woman who has severe pregnancy complications from having an abortion, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sent out threatening letters to Texas hospitals informing them that the TRO is temporary and that Texas will go after any hospital or doctor that provides pregnant Katie Cox with the necessary abortion. He then petitioned the conservative Texas Supreme Court, who then (as expected) overruled the lower court’s decision, thereby placing the woman’s abortion status in limbo.   The fetus Katie Cox is carrying suffers from Edwards Syndrome, a fetal anomaly that, 50% of the time, results in the fetus dying before or during birth, with 95 percent of those surviving past that dying painful deaths within the next two weeks.   Doctors have advised Cox the pregnancy is non-viable, and proceeding with it carries significant risks to her own future healt...

The Daily Beast reports that Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced this week that the Texas National Guard is installing razor wire along the border of Texas and New Mexico on his orders, claiming that New Mexico’s Democratic Governor Michelle Grisham is allowing “Migrants to enter New Mexico illegally,  who then cross into Texas,” and “We are stopping it.”   Of course, many feel the real reason for Gov. Abbott’s razor-wire fence is that New Mexico is a safe haven for women seeking abortions, and Abbott and his pals fear women are “sneaking out of Texas unnoticed” to get them.   They point out that Abbott has been railing about this issue for months now. KXAN NBC in Austin reports Republican Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced he'll pardon convicted murderer Daniel Perry, who was just found guilty of shooting Black Lives Matter demonstrator Garret Foster during a July 2020 protest in Austin.   Witnesses say Perry deliberately dove his vehicle into the area where the protests were going on.   Keep in mind this occurred during a year when there were several incidents of people driving directly into protesters.   In addition, Texas is an open-carry state, and Foster, as well as some of the protesters, were armed, but Perry claimed Foster aimed an assault rifle at him.   This was contradicted by witnesses at the scene who say Foster never raised his rifle and never attempted to fire his weapon.   During the trial, prosecutors showed the jury text messages and social media communications where Daniel Perry talked about killing protesters in the weeks before the shooting.   One text read, "I might have to kill a...

According to a figure cited by the “Fresh Produce Association of the Americas,” Texas Governor Greg Abbott caused an estimated $240 million worth of produce to rot when he mandated additional state inspections after the federal inspections of all trucks and commercial vehicles crossing into Texas from Mexico.   This resulted in huge backups and waits of almost 30 hours - before he finally reversed the policy after receiving widespread criticism.   Abbott claimed the move was to ensure the trucks were not smuggling in illegal aliens, but critics say the move was simply a racist political stunt, and his actions will cause large price spikes for strawberries, avocados, and asparagus in the Northeast and Midwest as early as this weekend.   Goodness - strawberries, avocados, and asparagus - oh my!  But hey - at least Gov. NBC News reports that Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R), less than a week after pleading for out-of-state medical help, is now demanding the federal government (FEMA) send him mortuary trailers, in anticipation of an influx of dead bodies as an accelerating COCID-19 continues to wreak havoc upon his state.   This is the same Gov. Abbott who fought fiercely throughout the pandemic against coronavirus preventive measures - such as social distancing, face masks, and vaccinations.   When asked about his mortuary trailer request from the Feds, Gov. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, a strong Trump supporter who earlier this year signed a bill into law banning local governments from enacting mask and vaccine mandates, is now desperately looking for out-of-state medical personnel to help him staff Texas hospitals that are being overrun by a horrific surge in COVID cases throughout the state as a result of his policies.   The governor has also requested hospitals postpone all elective surgeries until further notice. Texas Legislature Passes Bill Allowing Texans to Carry Handguns Without Permits:   The Republican-dominated Texas legislature has just approved a bill that would allow people in Texas to carry handguns in the state without a license, a background check, or even a gun safety course.   The legislation is now on its way to Gov. Greg Abbott (R), who says he looks forward to signing it into law. At Least 20 Dead and Dozens Injured in El Paso Walmart Massacre:   Twenty people were killed and dozens more injured in yet another massacre by right-wing gunman, this time at an El Paso Walmart.  The store was packed with back-to-school shoppers, making it one of the ten deadliest mass shootings in U.S. history.   Well, fortunately for victim’s families, Republicans have announced they’ll be sending out many more than their usual “thoughts and prayers” to everyone involved - after all, there’s good people on both sides of this issue you know.   In addition, leading Republican senators promise to make funds available to arm all Walmart employees nationwide with fully automatic M4 Carbines - as well as immediately reform numerous committees to investigate Hillary’s e-mails and the 2011 Benghazi attack.  And so, it seems yet again - the world is left wondering how and why another horrific incident like this occurred.  In the meantime, confused ...

Woman Flooded with Makeup Requests After Mugshot Goes Viral:   A former Texas A&M University student’s mugshot for possession of 2 grams of marijuana - has gone viral after being posted on the Greenville, Texas police Facebook page, with people from all over the country requesting her makeup advice.   Gee, they actually locked her up overnight for just 2 grams of pot?  Where’d this happen again - Texas or Saudi Arabia?  One thing I’d like to know is why the hell do people always seem to look ten times better in their mugshots than they do on their driver’s license or ID pics?   Good grief, if this keeps up, actors are gonna quit getting headshots and just get mugshots instead.  Of course, obviously Lindsay Lohan already figured that one out a long time ago.  But its cool that everything seems to be working out OK.  In fact, the guy who took the mugshot - he’s now working as a fashion photographer. https://www.johnnyrobishcomedy.c...
