You've Got to Be Kidding?

In a move voting rights advocates fear would be used to “intimidate voters” if it became law, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced a plan to establish a - first of its kind in the US - “special police force” called the “Office of Election Crimes and Security,” to oversee elections within the state of Florida.   This special force would be stationed at unspecified “field offices throughout the state” and act on tips from “government officials or any other person.” Wait, Trump’s “Mini-Me” wants to do what?  That said, I do get where Gov. DeSantis is coming from on this.  After all, in those 2020 elections, too many “eligible” voters were able to cast votes for Democrats, and Republicans vow “not to let that s**t happen again.”  Why, how can it be considered a “fair” election, if Democrats are allowed to vote too?  And, let’s not forget all those pesky minorities, who also insist on voting.   Besides, what’s the big deal?  Gov. Miami Beach Under State of Emergency as Spring Breakers Overwhelm City:   When Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) reopened Florida just before spring break, there was a serious concern in the medical community that the state would become an epicenter for another wave of the coronavirus.   Now, Miami Beach has been forced to declare a state of emergency after the city became overwhelmed with intoxicated revelers, packed shoulder-to-shoulder throughout the city.   The City of Miami Beach has issued a statement, complaining that when colleges send us their spring breakers, they’re not sending their best people.  They’re sending their stoners, their alcoholics, and their Phys Ed majors.  Why, I can remember back in the day, when we used to try and see how many people we could stuff inside a VW bug.  Now, I guess they try and figure out how many people they can fit inside a jail cell.
