TMZ is reporting that right-wing cable news channel Newsmax is working hard to land former Fox News anchor and White Nationalist Tucker Carlson.   Sources say Newsmax wants him to be more than just the face of the network, claiming “The news channel is doing everything it can to sweeten the deal for Tucker to come on board - including floating the idea of letting him program the whole channel, not just his own show.”   Tucker would have a “big say in rebranding their network” in addition to his own show if he did decide to make the switch. Wow, no kidding?  Newsmax wants to turn all their programming over to Tucker Carlson?  I'm sure their legal department is simply thrilled to death about that - literally!  And hiring a two-faced liar to lead your company sounds like a terrific business strategy!  Gee, I guess this means Newsmax must have an extra $750 million in cash laying around and ready to shell out when Tucker does what Tucker does best - spouting lies and unproven conspi

Larry Gene Gay, 70, of Springfield, Missouri, is being held at the Greene County Jail on a $50,000 bond after he held a gun to a Price Cutter employee's throat after being told the meat department was closed.   The said employee said he received a call from the meat department about a man behind the counter packing his own meat.   The employee then approached the man and told him that he could not be back behind the counter, at which time the man became upset and said he was going to keep doing what he was doing.   When the employee said he was not going to help him with the meat, Mr. Gay stuck his gun to the employee’s throat.   After police were called and he was confronted outside in his truck, Mr. Gay then claimed he had only showed the employee his gun “Just to say I’m not stealing.   I need you here to help me to get a couple of these steaks.   I’m not going to hurt you.” You bet!  Because nothing says, “I’m not going to hurt you,” like ramming a loaded gun into someone’s thr

The Republican-dominated Iowa Senate just passed a child labor bill that "allows 14-year-olds to work six-hour night shifts" and "allows 15-year-olds to work in plants on assembly lines moving items up to 50 pounds.”   In addition, “16 and 17-year-olds will now be permitted to serve alcohol.” Good grief!  Sounds like these fun-loving Republicans wanna make every day a “Bring your child to work day.”   Well, I suppose they figured all those fetuses that aren’t getting aborted - gotta have something to do.   “All aboard!   Next stop, the 19th century.”   Gee, I can hardly wait to see what’s next.   Indentured servitude, debtors' prisons, poor houses?   Hell, they may as well bring back the poor houses, given that its nearly impossible for regular folks to afford to buy a home or even rent an apartment these days. KXAN NBC in Austin reports Republican Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced he'll pardon convicted murderer Daniel Perry, who was just found guilty of shooting Black Lives Matter demonstrator Garret Foster during a July 2020 protest in Austin.   Witnesses say Perry deliberately dove his vehicle into the area where the protests were going on.   Keep in mind this occurred during a year when there were several incidents of people driving directly into protesters.   In addition, Texas is an open-carry state, and Foster, as well as some of the protesters, were armed, but Perry claimed Foster aimed an assault rifle at him.   This was contradicted by witnesses at the scene who say Foster never raised his rifle and never attempted to fire his weapon.   During the trial, prosecutors showed the jury text messages and social media communications where Daniel Perry talked about killing protesters in the weeks before the shooting.   One text read, "I might have to kill a few people on my wa

According to a new report, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas accepted luxury trips around the globe for more than two decades, including travel on a superyacht and private jet, from wealthy prominent Republican donor Harlan Crow without disclosing them.   One trip, which included flights on Crow’s jet and island-hopping on a superyacht, would have reportedly cost Thomas and his wife Ginni more than $500,000 had they actually paid for the trip themselves. It seems Donald Trump and his merry band of grifters have been working overtime, tirelessly trying to cash in on the former President’s indictment.   First, by having sycophants like Lindsey Graham and Rudy Giuliani hit the airwaves and beg MAGA followers to “Please send Donald Trump money!”   Now, after his arrest on 34 felony counts, the Trump money machine is now offering “Not Guilty T-Shirts” to those who make a $47 donation or more.   The tees sport an idyllic photoshopped mugshot pic of the former President.   Meanwhile, MAGA luminaries such as George Santos and Marjorie Taylor Greene showed up at the Manhattan Supreme Court to protest Trump’s arraignment, with Greene comparing Trump to Nelson Mandela and Jesus. Republicans in North Carolina are moving to outlaw “Participation Trophies,” with State Sen. Timothy Moffitt introducing the "Eliminate Participation Trophies Act" (SB 430).   The bill reads, "Youth sports or other youth recreation activities operated under the authority of a local government shall not include awards for participants based solely on their participation in the sport or other activity," the proposed law states. "Awards provided in connection with the activity, if any, shall be based on identified performance achievements.” Terrific move, Repubs!  Yet another instance of the Republican party being laser-focused on the issues that really make a difference in people’s lives.   Wow, is this seriously the most pressing issue in North Carolina for elected officials to address?   Come on, why this?   Are there no little puppies to kick or no tiny kittens to drown?   I guess we don’t even need to ask what they really think about organizations like the “S
