Indiana Sen. Braun Would Back Overturning Decision Legalizing Interracial Marriage

The Times of Northwest Indiana is reporting that Sen. Mike Braun (R-IN) told reporters in a conference call that he would support the Supreme Court overturning the 1967 “Loving v. Virginia" decision, which struck down state bans on interracial marriage.  Braun specifically added he is fine with interracial couples getting married in one state, and for other states refusing to recognize that marriage, claiming these issues should be up to the states, not the Federal Government.

Gee, I’m gonna go out on a limb here, and guess Sen. Braun probably does not plan to approve Ketanji Brown Jackson’s appointment to the Supreme Court.  Now, is it just me, or does it seem like more and more Republicans are intentionally saying all the “quiet parts” right out loud these days?  So, Sen. Braun would tell a married couple coming from another state that they are not legally married in his state.  Smart move.  That way, he could then turn around and charge them with “fornication.”

Anyway, I guess that means throwing Supreme Court Justice Clarence and Ginni Thomas’ marriage right out the window?  On the other hand, given Thomas’ voting record, I suspect Republicans might show some mercy and grant them one of their special “My Black Friend” exemptions.  Either that, or Justice Thomas might try and legalize his marriage by getting one of those “skin pigment augmentation” procedures like Michael Jackson had.  Hell, that should be all it takes to fool your average homeschooled Republican!

Sen. Braun explained his position by saying that "We're better off having states manifest their points of view, rather than homogenizing it across the country as Roe v. Wade did.”  Excellent point senator, because as everyone knows, having fifty completely different sets of rules for everything - is a much less complicated way to do business.  So, let’s just follow Sen. Braun’s lead and break up the Union into fifty little fiefdoms, each with their own laws, and all of them perpetually at war with one another.

Seems these so-called “states rights” Republicans appear to have forgotten the “United” part of the “United States.”  But I get it.  Republicans want their “freedom,” and nothing says freedom quite like your state government telling you who you can or cannot marry!  I mean, if the court did overthrow “Loving v. Virginia,” just think how insane life would be for someone who is biracial.  You couldn’t get married to a black person because you’re half-white, and you couldn’t marry a white person because you’re half-black.

Makes you wonder exactly how far back Republicans want to turn back the clock?  Back to the dinosaur era?  Hell, speaking of dinosaurs, with the way Republicans plan to run things, I can see many folks thinking we might be better off getting slammed by another meteorite.  For these folks, its the 1850s or bust!  What’s next for our Republican friends?  Abolish the 13th Amendment and make the practice of slavery up to the states also?

As for me, the way I see it is, it’s not all that complicated.  I mean, if you don't agree with interracial marriage, then don't marry someone from another race, and if you don't agree with abortion, don't get one.  Otherwise, how about keeping your big mouth shut and your nose out of other people’s business - you sanctimonious pricks!

Trump Demands Constitution Be Set Aside and He Be Reinstated as President

Reacting to a Twitter post from Elon Musk who claimed Democrats violated the 1st Amendment by collaborating with big tech (Twitter), to remove tweets that featured pornographic photos of Hunter Biden during the 2020 election,” former President Donald Trump took to his Truth Social platform to demand that the United States Constitution be set aside and that he be reinstated as president.   Trump further claimed that "A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution.   Our great 'Founders' did not want, and would not condone False & Fraudulent Elections!” Now, let me get this straight, Trump wants the US Constitution to be suspended - because Twitter refused to publish photos of “Hunter Biden's junk” during that last presidential election?  The thing is Elon, Democrats weren’t even in power in 2020 - Trump was, which would make it a bit difficult for them to violate the...

Anti-Vax Newsmax Host Says Diseases are Supposed to Kill People

Conservative network Newsmax has been forced to “distance itself” from remarks uttered by host Rob Schmitt this week, who claimed that vaccines go "against nature" because diseases are "supposed to wipe out a certain amount of people,” and that vaccinations “unnaturally interfere with viruses' designs on killing people.” Wow, kinda looks like the “Schmitt” has really hit the fan over at Newsmax.  So, they want to “distance” themselves from Schmitt’s remarks, do they?  Gee, makes you wonder if the morons who run Newsmax know they actually have the option not hire anti-science nitwits like Schmitt as anchors in the first place?  Not to worry though, should Schmitt get fired, I'm sure folks like Kevin McCarthy or Rand Paul would warmly welcome him to become part of their staffs. Of course, the truth is, what Schmitt is really promoting is “Social Darwinism.”  Given that, I assume by the same logic he applies to vaccines, one may conclude that by warning people ...

2020 GOP Senate Nominee Claims the Equality Act Will ‘Illegalize’ Jesus Christ

The Equality Ac t is a bill before the United States Congress, that would simply prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex, sexual orientation and gender identity in employment, housing, public accommodations, education, federally funded programs, etc.   It doesn’t dictate what churches or religious people must believe, but that hasn’t stopped right-wing, QAnon, and flat Earth activist Lauren Witzke - the GOP’s failed 2020 Senate candidate from Delaware - from going on Alan Jones’ InfoWars and claiming that the bill will “illegalize Jesus Christ” and “categorize the Scripture as hate speech.” Well, given her stance on immigrants, I can’t imagine why she’d ever object to anyone “trying to illegalize Jesus Christ.”  I mean, by her standards - isn’t Jesus basically just another “illegal immigrant” from the Middle East?  So, what’s the problem?  Why, if you don’t believe me, then try telling some border patrol agent “but, but, I’m the son of God” - and see how far ...
